Keyword Research Tips - How to Pick the Perfect Keyword Research Tool
Who else wants some quick and easy keyword research tips? If you are anything like the vast majority of people I speak to who need more traffic to their web sites, blogs or landing pages, the chances are.....you understand the fundamental value of doing killer ( and comprehensive) keyword research to own more eyeballs.
Okay......but what is the BEST keyword research tool on the planet? Help!
The truth? There really isn't ONE tool that's inherently better than the rest across the board. Why? Well, different tools do different things exceptionally well, and the very BEST ones focus on one element of the puzzle, and master that alone.
For example - you can't really call ONE major league player the BEST baseball player, right? You need to specify first what position you're talking about...and what you'd need that player for. I mean....you wouldn't want the best shortstop in the game pitching the 7th game of the world series for you, would you? Of course not....and it's kind of the same thing for online marketing research tools as well.
Can you give a better, working example?
Sure! If I'm doing Pay Per Click keyword research, for example, I want a tool that will not only tell me what my competitors are advertising on, but also what their landing pages look like, how much they pay per click and how long they've been advertising on very specific words and phrases. (amongst other things)
But....if I'm building a blog, and want to get as many natural results in the search engines for derivations of a phrase, but have no interest in paying for my advertising, the sorts of "intelligence" I'll be looking for will be completely different, and the above information will be pretty much worthless. A different tool...with a different "specialty" will be much better to serve my needs and goals.
Make sense?
I hope so! So first, define your goals, and then hunt down the right tool that expedites helping you make them happen...and in a hurry! There are 2 or 3 super research tools that I use everyday, each specializing in ONE piece of the puzzle, and once you get comfortable, that's all you'll need as well
